JRC OBD Tools supports Mercedes-Benz module programming for *new (virgin) and used (second-hand) replacements, including *ECU (ECM), EIS, SAM, FRM, Key Memory (ISN Sync), and more.

1. Programming a New (Virgin) Module

• Tools Required:
  • XENTRY Pass-Thru (Official MB tool) or compatible J2534 device (for DAS/Xentry access)
  • Vediamo or DTS Monaco (for advanced coding)
  • JRC OBD Tools software (with Mercedes-Benz support)
• Process:
  • Connect via XENTRY/DAS or JRC’s software to program the new module.
  • New modules require VIN programming, component protection (CP) removal (if applicable), and coding.

• Process:
  • Used modules (e.g., ECU, EIS, SAM) must be virginized or reset before installation.
  • ISN (Immobilizer) sync is required when replacing ECU/EIS.
  • Component Protection (SCN coding) may need to be removed via XENTRY or DTS Monaco.

Key Notes:

• *Component Protection (CP): Newer Mercedes models require *online SCN coding via XENTRY.
• *Older Models (Pre-2010): Can sometimes be programmed via *DAS/Xentry offline mode or JRC tools.
• *Used ECU/EIS Modules: Often need *bench flashing (EEPROM rewrite) before installation.
