Ford 1-Year Complete Software Package – IDS, FJDS, FDRS, FORScan

Integrated Diagnostic Software (IDS)
The factory Ford Motor Company vehicle diagnostic software provides complete dealership-level diagnostic coverage for all 1996 to present Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles. IDS is a flexible diagnostic tool that operates on standard computing platforms and works with Ford’s VCM, VCM II, VCMM, and VMM devices. The IDS software license includes time-based access to the IDS software, software updates, and calibration files.

Ford J2534 Diagnostic Software (FJDS)
This factory Ford Motor Company vehicle diagnostic tool is designed for use with J2534-compatible Vehicle Communications Interfaces (VCI). FJDS software provides module reprogramming software (FMP) covering 1996 to present Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury module reprogramming functions. It also delivers complete dealership-level diagnostic software for all 2018 to present Ford and Lincoln vehicles. FJDS operates on standard computing platforms and is compatible with Ford’s VCM II or J2534-compatible devices. The FJDS software license includes time-based access to the FJDS software, software updates, and calibration files.

Ford Diagnostic & Repair System (FDRS)
The next-generation factory Ford Motor Company diagnostic software is designed for use with VCM II, VCMM, and J2534-compatible Vehicle Communications Interfaces (VCI). FDRS offers complete dealership-level diagnostic coverage for some 2018 and newer vehicles. FDRS provides superior capabilities, is more user-friendly, and offers more diagnostic tools than IDS. The cloud-based system ensures technicians always have access to the latest software whenever FDRS logs into the Ford network.

FORScan
There are many OBD2 scanners available, but how does FORScan differ? It is specifically designed for Ford, Mazda, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles, supporting features unique to the manufacturer protocols. This makes FORScan far more powerful when working with these models compared to standard OBD2 scanners.

For example, FORScan can detect modules not visible to regular OBD2 scanners. It can display and reset trouble codes that are undetectable by OBD2 scanners, show PIDs unsupported by other scanners, and run specific tests and service procedures. The Windows version of FORScan can also handle configuration and programming functions. In short, FORScan offers capabilities beyond the reach of regular OBD2 scanners.

Main Features:

• Detect vehicle on-board network configuration.
• Read and reset Diagnostic Trouble Codes from all modules (refer to the list of supported modules).
• Read sensors’ data from modules.
• Run diagnostic test procedures.
• Run service procedures.
• Perform configuration and programming functions (only available in FORScan for Windows and requires an Extended License).

Supported Vehicles:

• Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury Models: 1996–2023MY (some 1994–1995MY models are also supported). Please note that some 2023MY Ford models may not be identified yet, as work is ongoing. FORScan may support limited functions and configuration parameters for brand-new 2021–2023MY models. 2024MY Ford and Lincoln models are not yet supported.
• Mazda Models: 1996–2022MY up to 6G models (inclusive). However, Mazda 7G models (such as new Mazda 3, CX-30, MX-30, CX-50, etc.) are only partially supported or not supported at all.
• Vehicles other than Ford, Mazda, Lincoln, and Mercury are not supported.
